Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use it. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage.

How GSTYR Uses Cookies

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled.

  • Authentication cookies — set by Clerk to keep you logged in securely across sessions
  • Session cookies — maintain your session state as you navigate the Platform
  • Security cookies — help prevent cross-site request forgery attacks

Functional Cookies

These cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience.

  • Preference storage — remembers settings such as your feed filter, category preferences, and UI state

Analytics Cookies

We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Platform, such as which pages are most visited and where users drop off. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Third-Party Cookies

Some features of the Platform load third-party content that may set their own cookies:

  • YouTube embeds — when a challenge video is embedded, YouTube may set cookies according to Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy)
  • Clerk — our authentication provider sets cookies to manage your login state

Managing Cookies

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • Block all cookies — note that this will prevent you from logging in
  • Delete existing cookies — you will be logged out and preferences will be reset
  • Accept cookies per site — allows you to manage cookies selectively

To manage cookies, check your browser's help documentation. Common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently do not alter our data practices in response to DNT signals, as there is no industry-wide standard for their interpretation.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
